Jenna Brunt

Jenna Brunt is a staff lawyer at LAND, where she brings a deep commitment to protecting the environment and advocating for the rights and interests of Indigenous communities. Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Jenna‘s strong connection to the North fuels her passion to advocate for community-based environmental justice.
Jenna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Laurentian University, where she majored in Law and Justice and minored in Biology. Her educational background allows her to consider environmental issues through both legal and ecological lenses. Jenna went on to complete her law degree at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in Thunder Bay, graduating with a specialization in Indigenous law.
During law school, Jenna served as an executive member of the Environmental Law Club and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada (PBSC) in partnership with LAND for two years. Through PBSC, she completed projects with LAND that focused on the impacts of the Ring of Fire development and efforts to strengthen Canada’s biodiversity legislation. In 2024, she continued her involvement with LAND as a summer law student. These experiences gave her a deeper understanding of how the law can be used as a tool for advancing environmental protection and upholding Indigenous rights.
Jenna was called to the Ontario Bar in October 2025. Outside of her legal work, Jenna enjoys hiking and exploring Northern Ontario’s landscapes with her Australian Shepherd, Opie. She also enjoys rock climbing, playing guitar and piano, and spending time with friends and family.
